Ir. Dr. Lo Wai Kwok (Engineering Legislative Councilor) was guest speaker and he shared the history of the development of Hong Kong Science Park.  In 1988, Dr. Lo represented industries to suggest the establishment of Hong Kong Science Park to Industry Department.  But Government’s consultation report was negative because the consultants hadn’t considered the mainland China factor for manpower support and market demand.  Then they proposed again and again in 1991 and 1994, respectively.  Until 1997, CE adopted their suggestion and established Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.  Dr. Lo also introduced this project to public in Sha Tin Distinct.  Finally, he said cluster was very important for Science Park that included Multinational Companies (MNCs), Large, Middle and Small Enterprises.  He reviewed the past and looking forward the future development of the Lok Ma Chau Loop Innovation and Technology Park.
