HKSQ Study Mission for Industry 4.0 – Day 3: Visit to National Cheng Kung University and Attend CSQ Annual Dinner

The study mission named “Quality Professionals preparing for Industry 4.0” was organized by Hong Kong Society for Quality (HKSQ), supported by ASQ and Hong Kong Quality Function Development Association (HKQFDA) from 16 to 20 November 2016. In day 3, we took a high speed rail to Tainan and then visited National Cheng Kung University. We took a photo inside the high speed rail.

Arrived in Tainan, Chinese Society for Quality (CSQ) arranged a bus to bring their members and us to go to the National Cheng Kung University.

We took a group photo in the main entry of the National Cheng Kung University.

I took a photo in the Cheng Kung Lake for memory and expected everything success after this trip.

Then we reached the College of Management, National Cheng Kung University. HKSQ and CSQ members took a group photo in front of the college.

The vision and mission of the College of Management were posted in the wall. I like their vision:

1. Truth and Knowledge

2. Integration and Innovation

3. Growth and Excellence

That is the Quality Vision!!!

The International Symposium of Quality Management (ISQM) would be held in here (Department of Business Administration) tomorrow.

In the beginning, Prof. Lin gave a welcome speech to us and introduced the college, as well as, their mission.

Since Prof. Lin had another meeting afterward, our chairman Mr. Peter Fung presented HKSQ flag and the 30^th anniversary book to Prof. Lin after his talk for memory.

Then Prof. JrJung Lyu introduced the Center for Quality and Innovation and he was also ASQ Country Councilor in Taiwan. The Center for Quality and Innovation was established in 2007 and aimed to enhance the collaboration among academic, industry and government to develop the quality and innovation theory and practices.

We appreciated the lunch arrangement by the university that all Taiwan special food were included into two lunch box. Peter and Edmund took a photo before lunch.

After lunch, we visited the famous museum named “CHIMEI Museum (奇美博物館)”.

(Remark: Originally, we planned to visit the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) (工業技術研究院 - 南分院). But we were rejected because of a new policy that not allowed Chinese (Professional from China) to visit ITRI included Hong Kong and Macau!)

We took a group photo in front of the Museum.

It was a long path to go to the Museum and many sculptures in the both sides like Charles bridge of Praha.

The museum did not allow taking photo. After 1~2hr walking, we had break outside for coffee and ice-cream.

Before left, we took a group photo with CSQ participants.

I also took a photo for memory.

Sculpture under the blue sky was very beautiful.

We were honor to attend the Chinese Society for Quality (CSQ) Annual Dinner.

I also met Prof. Jeh-Nan (Jack) Pan (潘浙楠) (Vice Dean & Director, Institute of International Management, National Cheng Kung University).

CSQ arranged all HKSQ members into different table separately so as to exchange idea with different CSQ members and professionals. (My table group photo)

The Vice President of National Cheng Kung University Prof. Wang (黃正弘) gave a welcome speech.

Then Mr. Liu Li Tsung (劉黎宗) (President, CSQ) gave an opening remark.

I met Dr. Han-Chung Cheng (鄭漢中) who was Chairman of Taiwan Mitochondrion Applied Technology Co., Ltd. His company was research on extracting the mitochondrion from stem cell for medical use.
